Rocket Man Running
When I was pregnant Drew and I had a conversation about what theme we should use to decorate the baby's room. I wanted duckies. Drew told me that he would make a deal, if it was a girl, I got duckies, otherwise he would get to pick the theme. When we found out that it was a boy, Drew decided that the theme would be rockets. By rockets he means the 1960 retro rocket type design. He made it very clear that it could not be outer space or trendy rockets, just the 1960's ones. Now, for those of you who know Drew, you know he said this to be difficult and to prevent clutter. The funny twist to this story is that 1960s retro rockets have become cool again and I can find stuff all over.
One of the greatest rocket gifts came from GrammE and Grandpa Elfstrom. They got him this riding rocket that makes noises, has flashing lights and vibrates when it "takes off." Ever since little dude was 3 months old I have taken a monthly picture of him next to the rocket to show his growth. At 9 months, Reichen rode on it and hit the button for take off. He DID NOT like the vibration and started to cry. So, this month when I pulled out the rocket, he looked at it very hesitantly. I set him down next to it and press the button for vibrating. The attached video shows his response!

Using Righty - Again! March 8, 2008
Reichen has really been making strides with his right hand. Drew and I were watching him play with a ball and some rings. He kept using righty to grab the ball - yay!!
We have been taking these videos so we can bring them to OT to show how things are going and what we do at home!

Reichen Playing with the Cookie Jar - March 4
GrammE bought Reichen a little cookie jar that has flashing lights and sings the cookie song (which Drew sings beautifully!) This is one of Reichen's favorite toys. Reichen has figured out that he needs to put a cookie in the jar to make it sing. He did a great job with righty while playing with this toy!

Reichen Crawling - Feb 3rd, 2008
Reichen continued to perfect his army crawl. I was amazed how much he advanced in such a short amount of time
Reichen Crawling - January 29, 2008
On January 22nd, Reichen made his first inch forward. Drew was home alone with him at the time and Reichen moved slightly forward to reach a bag of candy. Drew was so excited and a little nervous to tell me. After that we tried for days to get Reichen to show off his skill again and he was very hesitant to do it again. On the 29th he decided he was confident enough to try again and with a little help from Daddy he was off to the baby races
Reichen Giggles -- November 11, 2007
Reichen loves it when we make funny noises to him. His favorite noise from Drew is "DEET!" Drew was able to get Reichen giggling a deep belly laugh that is adorable!!
Reichen Loves the Camera - October 6, 2007
Reichen is so used to having pictures taken of himself that he now reaches for the camera to look at the cute little screen. This video is of Reichen hamming for the camera!!
Reichen's Driving - Jan 15, 2008
For Christmas Grandma and Grandpa Florida bought Reichen a little driving toy. He loves playing with it since it makes lots of loud noises and there are lots of flashing lights. In this video he is also wearing the outfit that Grandma and Grandpa Florida got him! We think of them every time he plays with the car game and wears the outfit (which is often!)

Reichen and Blocks - September 1, 2007
To this day, Reichen does not like stacked blocks. If he sees anything stacked, he will knock it over. This is one of the traits that Ike picked up from Drew. Drew HATES having anything stacked. When I unload the grocery cart to check out, Drew will watch with an eagle eye and move anything that is overlapping with something else. It will be great to have two boys keeping me on the straight and narrow (and unstacked) ;)
Reichen "talks" - August 1, 2007
We loved hearing Reichen babble and make baby noises. We decided to record them so that we could play them back as he got older.
Reichen and Daddy Cry for their Supper - August 22, 2007
Reichen decided that he was hungry and Drew decided that since it seemed to work for Ike, he was going to try crying for his supper also. I had to get out the camera since it was so cute and then I promptly got both of my boys some food and peace was restored to the house
Reichen Swims for the First Time - July 28, 2007
On July 28th, we were invited to Drew's Uncle Jerry and Aunt Bonnie's house for a pool party. Reichen was not so sure about the water, even with Daddy holding him
Reichen's Gift to Mommy - July 17, 2007
You would think that I had learned from Drew's adventure with Reichen, but it is apparent that I did not in this clip.
Reichen give Drew a Gift - July 11, 2007
Drew loves spending time with his son. He used to have Reichen sit on his tummy while Drew laid on his back. In this particular video, I was taking some pictures of Daddy and son playing and Reichen decided to add his own spice :O
Reichen Crying - July 11, 2007
Even as a little baby Reichen rarely cried. He was such a mellow little guy. He would fuss a little if he was hungry or if he was tired, but was easily calmed. I thought his cry was so cute and I wanted to get it on video so that I could listen to it as he got older (plus, I sent this video out to all of the relatives who did not believe that he ever cried!)
Reichen Falling Asleep - July 11, 2007
I used to love watching Reichen fall asleep. His eyes would get heavy, he would start to pet his blankies and then he would suck on his pacifier. It always reminded me of Maggie on the Simpsons. I took this video when Reichen was about 10 weeks old.
Reichen Rolling over - July 10th, 2007
Reichen rolled over the first time on July 1st. He would be so surprised each time he actually rolled over. He tested this skill for a couple of weeks and then stopped doing it until mid-September.

20080101 Reichen Zoe
Reichen loves to play with Zoe. In this video, Zoe has discovered Reichen's tunnel toy and is batting at the side. Reichen thinks that she is doing it for his entertainment and giggling ensues...
20080108 The Rolling Game
Drew and Reichen love to play the rolling game. Drew will gently roll Reichen back and forth on his chest. Eventually little guy will get into the game and will eventually start throwing himself to one side or another and trusting that Drew will catch him.
